Course Project Overview
The purpose of the Course Project is to apply the various Quality Management concepts, techniques and practices to real-world scenarios. Within the organization you have chosen, and given the importance for today’s corporations to deliver quality products and services to customers and to achieve a competitive edge, these projects require you to apply the concepts, techniques and practices of total quality management to achieve strategic business objectives in today’s environment.
You will select an organization/company that provides a service or produces a product. The selected organization will be the subject for all parts of the project.
All parts of the Project will adhere to APA format and citation guidelines.
Course Project – Part 1 (Due Week 3)
Select an organization / company and prepare an assessment of the quality philosophy that you see applied within that organization / company.
Describe this organization and its production process (service or product), and evaluate if its actions and commitment to quality translate its mission statement.
How is this mission statement and the management vision transmitted to employees?
Paper length: 500-words including 2 pages of text (double spaced, 12 point, 1 inch margins), a cover page, and a reference page (total of 4 pages).
Course Project – Part 2 (Due Week 5)
Prepare an evaluation of quality within the organization you have chosen.
Use information learned in this course and in prior courses in statistics or quantitative methods, apply the appropriate tools to find the source of quality problems that the organization is facing, and create an improvement plan. In doing so, use your knowledge of Six Sigma Breakthrough.
Prepare your evaluation of quality within the organization you have chosen, suggest the best practices of total quality, and propose an approach for how your organization might move from traditional practice to a Total Quality orientation to achieve competitive advantage.
Paper length: 500-words including 2 pages of text (double spaced, 12 point, 1 inch margins), a cover page, and a reference page (total of 4 pages).
Course Project – Part 3 (Due Week 6)
Prepare an assessment of how TQM can be applied within the organization you have chosen.
Using the information learned in the Simulation – Implementing TQM, prepare an assessment of how TQM can be applied within the selected organization.

What would be the benefits of implementing TQM in your selected organization?

Course Project – Part 4 (Due Week 8)
Prepare an evaluation of human resource management within the organization you have chosen.
Develop a strategic human resource management plan that addresses the design of work systems, including education, training and development; and employee well-being and satisfaction to support TQM in the organization you have chosen.
Paper length: 1250-words including 5 pages of text (double spaced, 12 point, 1 inch margins), a cover page, and a reference page (total of 7 pages).
