Defining Technical Writing Using a Rhetorical Approach

In this part, you are asked to draw from the course readings (at least five sources) to define technical writing to an expert in the field. Consider the following points in this part of the project:

1) come up with your own definition by using and synthesizing the course readings;
2) discuss the significance and characteristics of technical writing;
3) provide a justification of your definition and address its possibilities and limitations.

This short paper will allow you to practice the process of gathering, presenting, and refining information to an audience (Collier and Toomey 3), one of the fundamental practices in the technical workplace.
