Emergent Realities: Individual Assignment
Our contemporary biomedical world is currently emerging in response to the highly dynamic and destabilizing COVID-19 pandemic. The broader question of this assignment is this: How is the pandemic altering practices, ideologies, or structures of American biomedicine?
For this assignment, you will need to find someone (family member, friend, friend of a friend, etc) who works in some aspect of the health care sector to interview via video conference call. The interviewee does not need to be a health care provider; every facet of health care has been affected by the pandemic from receptionist to insurance coordinator to janitor to hospital CEO. In class, we will discuss the protocols for conducting the interview (see Module for Week 2).
After the interview, you will write up the interviewees story, and then analyze it for the areas of any significant change or distress due to COVID-19 (40 pts).
Logistics: This is expected to be 3-5 pages long, double spaced. Use citations as needed: AAA Publishing Style Guide.pdf Actions
