Identify the Work of Art: Include title, artist, and subject matter in your identification. (3-4 sentences).
Describe the Work of Art: Use formal elements vocabulary. Should provide greater detail than paragraph 1. Work from general to specific (start with the most important information). Answer the question “What do you see?” (5-7 sentences).
Analyze the Work of Art: Subjectively interpret the work of art. What meaning do you get from the artwork? (3-4 sentences).
Do you see a story being told by the artist?
How does the work of art make you feel? (If it makes you feel a certain way, why? What is in the work of art that gives you the feeling?)
Does it remind you of anything else you’ve seen, read, or heard?
